Deep Energy – The App

is a combination of Sound Designer Jim Butler’s two one hour original music podcasts ‘Dark Ambient’ and ‘Deep Energy’ together in a convenient App with access to extended and exclusive bonus audio.

The ‘Dark Ambient Podcast’ is a one-hour Podcast currently in its fourth year of production and consists of almost 40 hours of free Ambient/Space/Electronic music. Consistently a 5 Star rated podcast, a sampling of some of the reviews from iTunes:

Last year Jim provided a 12-hour podcast for his listeners titled ‘Sunset to Sunrise’. Split into 12 one-hour podcasts released in December 2008, it was music designed to serve as daily background music that could play continuously or as music for a deep sleep cycle to dream by.  Those 12 hours and all of the ‘Dark Ambient’ podcasts can be accessed using this App.

The ‘Deep Energy Podcast’ is also a one-hour Podcast and continued favorite at iTunes. It was a ‘New and Notables’ pick for the month of October for Audio Music Podcasts, and it has been in and out of the top 100 for Music Podcasts since it’s inception. Each Episode now has two unique Photographs’ from Jim’s personal collection of landscape pictures of Chapman Pond and Long Sand Beach on the southern coast of Maine. One Photograph is the screen image while the episode plays and one is downloadable wallpaper for your iPhone or iTouch. Chapman Pond is situated in Southwest New Hampshire near Jim’s house and has been a constant source of inspiration for Jim since their inception.
Bonus Audio for podcasts produced before February 2010:
A new 15 – 20 minute remix of specific months podcast. Jim is in the process of taking the original multi track recordings and doing a 15 – 20 minute remix making an entire new composition available exclusively only through this application. This is a work in progress and as of the publication of the App, 15 podcasts have additional audio added, over 7 hours of new, remixed music.
Bonus Audio for podcasts produced after February 2010:
An extended 90-minute version (30 extra minutes of music) of that month’s podcast, without any advertising or interruptions.
