It was six years ago today (December 6) that the first Dark Ambient podcast was released. So I guess it’s only fitting that today should be the last Dark Ambient podcast. I made the decision a few months ago to wind it down and bring it to an end. The Deep Energy podcast and releasing music on iTunes, Bandcamp, Amazon etc….will continue without interruption.
Why? I just feel like it’s time, and with everything else that is going on, with music and my own life, something had to give, and the DA podcast was it. I just felt like I wasn’t giving my best when I was creating them in the last year or so. Between different music projects that I have been working, it always seemed that I would rush around and throw together something for a podcast and I always hated doing that. I feel like I’m a craftsman, and i’m unbelievably proud of what I create, and if it’s less than perfect, I don’t want to put it out. There are only so many hours in the day that I can work on music (I have a full time day job), and the DA podcast was always getting the short end of my time, so I made this decision.
I want to thank everyone who took a chance and spent their time and bandwidth to listen to someone who you never heard of before, and then to keep listening. I am eternally grateful, because without you, I wouldn’t have been able to create the other podcast and actually have the best part job in the world, and not feel embarrassed or untruthful when I tell people I am a musician.
I hope you still listen to the Deep Energy podcast and still stay friends on Facebook and Twitter etc….
So what is this last podcast?….It consists of a little snippet of the past 48 podcasts. A retrospective if you will, of my Dark Ambient body of work. It comes in a little under two hours. Listening to this podcast, I saw how the music changed and evolved from dark ambient to sort of new age and spacey to almost pure drones.

Hi Everyone, a new Dark Ambient podcast is up and ready for download…..’nightmare of the gods‘ ….The 100 minute bonus version for my app has also been uploaded, and a 70 minute version for Amazon.com for.99 cents will be uploaded tonight, and be available by the end of the week.
Next up is a new Deep Energy Single, tentatively titled ‘Dreamcatcher’. A Synth/Flute/nature sound piece that’s about 8 minutes long. After that, time to start work on the next Deep Energy CD. It has been almost a year since the Deep Energy 4 came out.
